Supporting young people who are facing challenges
Cashback Compass
Every young person has potential. Sometimes they just need the right person, at the right time, to help them see it.
Delivered by Aberdeen Foyer as part of the CashBack for Communities programme through Inspiring Scotland, Cashback Compass supports young people aged 14-25 across North Aberdeenshire who are facing challenges that place them at greater risk of harm, homelessness or involvement in antisocial behaviour and offending.
This includes young people experiencing family conflict, housing instability, substance use, disengagement from education, training or employment, or who have already come into contact with the justice system. Many are navigating complex experiences that can leave them feeling isolated, disconnected or uncertain about what comes next.
At the heart of the programme is a trusted relationship with a Development Coach. Through consistent, non-judgemental support, young people are given the time, space and encouragement to explore their strengths, build confidence and take positive steps towards the future they want for themselves.
Support is tailored to each young person and delivered in ways that work for them.
This can include 1:1 coaching, creative activities, wellbeing support including counselling, skills development, community-based activities or simply having a safe space to talk. We focus on building trust, creating opportunities and helping young people reconnect with their potential.
Using a trauma-informed and strengths-based approach, Cashback Compass works alongside young people at their own pace, helping them develop resilience, strengthen relationships and make positive choices for the future.
