Key elements of our work attract little or no public funding and exist purely due to our private investors and charitable donations.
These are often the aspects of work that can and do provide that added extra ingredient to make a lasting change in someone’s life.
Investing in the organisation, as opposed to a specific service, strengthens the financial foundation of the organisation and allows us to continue to be entrepreneurial in our work and go beyond that which is commissioned by public agencies.
We very much appreciate all the groups, companies, trusts and individuals who support the work of the Foyer. Without this we simply wouldn’t be able to provide services to the people in our community most in need.
PETROFAC employees based in the north-east of Scotland have raised £8,000 for the Foyer.
More than 530 employees attended Petrofac’s Christmas Dinner Dance and dug deep for the Foyer’s Christmas Appeal: a campaign to provide those currently experiencing homelessness with a cosier Christmas.
Leona McDermid, Foyer Chief Executive, said: “My warmest thanks to everyone who attended the Petrofac Dinner Dance for so generously supporting Aberdeen Foyer. It really is special to us to be your chosen charity for the event, to know that our work in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire to disrupt the cycle of youth homelessness and poverty has been noticed and matters to you. We are just amazed and delighted to receive the incredible donation of £8,000. On behalf of everyone we support, a big thank you!”
