Housing for young people

There are many reasons why a young person may need a safe home along with individualised support to make changes from what may have been a chaotic, possibly troubled life towards a positive and productive future.

We listen and respond to the hopes and aspirations of young people as they make the universal transition from adolescence to adulthood.

We are here to meet the needs of people as they move towards social and economic independence. For people living in our supported accommodation this will involve learning, with support, to gain skills to be able to manage their own home and work towards becoming employed. Young people will develop an action plan which will help them to improve understanding of themselves, where they are now and how to work towards where they want to be.

Working in partnership with Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils we provide supported tenancies for young people aged 16 – 25 across 6 sites; Aberdeen, Peterhead, Fraserburgh, Banchory, Stonehaven and Inverurie working with up to 65 tenants at any one time.

We have high quality self-contained furnished accommodation available to let to people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and require support.

Since the first accommodation site opened in 1998, the Foyer has housed and supported hundreds of young people, including single parents, care leavers, ex-offenders, those who have or have had drug/alcohol problems, learning difficulties or mental health issues.
