Highly skilled Education and Training Support Staff can help young people develop new skills to improve chances of moving into a job, further education or training place of their choice.

The team challenge and push young people to achieve their goals through:

  • improving confidence
  • motivation
  • career guidance
  • job search help
  • a wide range of training/education programmes
  • work experience opportunities
  • help with IT skills
  • basic skills support

Whether you are a tenant at the Foyer or attending a training course, we can offer activities from the list below all of which form the Education and Training services. These linked pages will inform you of the opportunities available.

• Learning Houses - a network of houses based in Aberdeen City and in North Aberdeenshire that provide a wide range of free training and support to people who might otherwise not be able to access resourses

• Prince’s Trust Team - a 12 week development programme to support young people enhance their confidence, motivation and team building skills

• Progress2Work - assisting people who have experienced barriers to employment through previous substance misuse into training and employment

• Build & Train - is a programme that will offer New Deal participants the chance to achieve job aspirations within the construction industry. The programme has been designed to meet the needs of employers within the construction industry whilst supporting participants through training and for the early stages of employment.

• Platform to Work is a new programme that offers participants the chance to achieve job aspirations within the oil and gas industry.

• Learn 2 Earn is a community based programme aimed at providing anyone who lives in a Housing Association or Housing Co-operative property in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire with support to source training, education and volunteering opportunities. This will hopefully increase future employment options. A small number of tenants from council housing are also able to participate in the programme.

• ICDRS - Aberdeen Foyer offers employability support as a partner organisation in the Aberdeen Integrated Community Drugs Service

• Lifeshaper - a community rehabilitation initiative for those who have had alcohol/drug problems and are ready to take the next steps towards education, training & employment

• Get Ready for Work - The programme is designed to assist young people who may need additional support to make the transition beyond school into the world of work.

• Training for Work - Training for Work provides training support for people who are unemployed and actively looking for work.
